Altopedaliodes halli halli, Cerro Toledo and SE of Laguna Negra.
North of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe Provinces flies another subspecies, A. halli cagnoni ; differences between the two are not obvious, and for some specimens it is almost impossible to tell where they come from ?
nevertheless, for those A. halli that we collected, cagnoni is usually slightly smaller and has a lighter UN ground color.
