this quite uncommon butterfly would seem to be known exclusively from an area that straddles the Colombia-Venezuela border, we nevertheless found it in Southern Ecuador (see map on new facts page).
this map from colombia inaturalists.org shows the sightings of this butterfly between 2014 and 2020, five in Colombia and three in Venezuela, in a triangle Caracas-Barranquilla-Manizales.
the old Loja-Zamora road, where we found it, is 1100 km South of Manizales.
