wingspan : 27/30 mm
these males, that don't look very different from Zalomes coto for instance, were a big surprise because their genitalia are completely different from those of any Zalomes species.
and they come from all over Southern Ecuador :
- the Gualaceo-Plan de Milagro road,
- at 3200 m on the Jima-Gualaquiza road,
- at 2700 m on the Loja-Zamora road,
- at 3100 m on the Jimbura-San Andrés road (Eastern slope).
if there is no doubt for the males the same cannot be said for the female that we put on this fact sheet only because she looks like those males and she was collected on the same spot as one of them.
as for the pictures below we put them on this fact sheet because 1 - they were taken on a spot where we found only one Zalomes species, this one, and 2 - because on these pictures there are no features that would prove it is not this species.
