wingspan :
Racta dalla, Quebrada de los Muertos, Cedén ridge.
Racta dalla is said to be extremely scarce a species - no more than five known specimens - but there is a doubt. Racta dalla lives at 2500/3000 meters, in places where bad weather is the rule : clouds, rain, wind and cold, and to fly it needs sun.
we think it is not a rare butterfly but a species that seldom flies in rarely visited and very specific places.
it is worth noting that all specimens collected at the Loja/Zamora border are definitely black and ivory, when all Sangay specimens - they all come from the Tinguichaca area - are clearly black and yellow.
