this specimen, just like those pictured in the NW of Ecuador, seems to be Heliopetes laviana laviana, a subspecies that is said to fly from the United States to Venezuela ; it is different from Heliopetes laviana leca, a subspecies described from Venezuela, and from Heliopetes libra (or laviana libra ?) a similar looking species from Brasil ?
