the available litterature on Genus Hermeuptychia is not really consistent.
the only recent publication that we know of is by Seraphim (2014) whose work includes the DNA sequencing of nearly all known species, but with a particular focus on Brasilian fauna.
today our identifications are based exclusively on the butterflies morphology, and will undoubtedly fall to pieces when we have some sequencing of our specimens.
in Loja and Zamora Chinchipe Provinces we found this Genus between 900 and 2300 meters, always in rather rainy areas.
