this Astraptes, collected at Bosque Protector el Bosque East of Vilcabamba, is Astraptes subflavus indeed, elevated at the species level in 2022 after DNA sequencing, it used to be a ssp of galesus.
subflavus and galesus would be identical if it were not for the colour of the body and the wingbase, dark brown in subflavus, a metallic green in galesus.
