all Heraclides astyalus that we collected or saw (on the field or in pictures) in Eastern Ecuador and Eastern Peru, look pretty much the same ; which is certainly not the case for the lectotype of phanias (illustrated on BoA) which looks much more like the type of astyalus hippomedon, also on BoA ?
