Male

wingspan : 35/39 mm

the above specimen was colleccted at 1500 m on the Loja-Zamora road, wingspan 35 mm, so far so good ;

but the second specimen (individual variations), similar looking, comes from the same road, but near Loja, at 2800 m, which is surprising, Catasticta ferra being known not to fly above 2000 m ; and its wingspan is 39 mm.

it probably is Catasticta ferra, but with a question mark.

today (2024) in the CEPUJ collections in Krakow, we've seen two specimens (also 39 mm) from the same road at 2600 m ; it therefore seems that Catasticta ferra flies at higher altitudes than previously thought.
